Book week 2017
At St.Peter's, to celebrate World Book Day 2017, we held a whole school Book Week which allowed us to truly immerse ourselves in good quality literature. Our focus for this year was poetry and each class spent the week focusing on a range of poets and writing our own poems. These poems are currently being made into an anthology of poetry which will be available to buy shortly. Our Character Parade on World Book day itself was lovely and a such a pleasure to see which books had truly inspired our children this year. We were also lucky enough to have a visit from the children's author Lou Kuenzler who worked with children on how to improve their creative writing. There's nothing like a real-life author to inspire some exciting writing!
Our annual bed time stories event was another huge success with so many of you coming to join us in your PJs! It was so special to have an opportunity to snuggle up with a good book and a hot chocolate, so a huge tank you to all who came. We'd also like to extend a huge thank you to our PTA who yet again gave up their time to support us by providing the hot chocolate and refreshments.
