This is a lovely story about three trees, growing in a forest, with aspirations as to what they would like to be. They all get chopped down and taken to the workshop to be turned into something. All three are bitterly disappointed by the carpenter's plans for them - a manger, a boat and a cross. That is until they realize the full value of the things that they become when they all encounter Jesus at different stages in His life. The manger protects Him as a baby, the boat carries Him and the fishermen when He calms the storm and the cross became a symbol of God's love and the meaning of sacrifice and redemption. It's a beautiful story and our Y4 acted it out with real feeling and Y3 supported with their beautiful singing.
