Welcome back to school.

Welcome to a brand-new school year! I am so excited to be your child’s teacher and to begin our learning journey together. 

We aim to create a happy, safe, and inspiring classroom where every child feels valued and encouraged to try their best. With your support, I know this will be a wonderful year of learning and fun.

I look forward to working with you and getting to know your children as we make Year 3 a memorable part of their school journey.

This week in year 3 w/e 18th September 2026

In Maths this week we have continued to develop our knowledge of number and place value using partitioning and number lines to 1000. In English, we continue to explore Star in the Jar, and the children have been writing and sharing some lovely diary entries in role as Tom.  In music, we have started to learn the recorder and the B note, and in Art, the children have been developing their knowledge of gestural drawing using charcoal and pastels.

Reading books will be sent home on Friday and must be returned on Wednesday.  

Reading records need to be filled in at least three times a week and signed by an adult at home and brought into school on Wednesdays for us to check. 

Maths homework is on Doodle Learning.  The children have their own login and this can be found inside their orange reading record books. The children will also receive spellings to practise each week.

Homework is set on a Friday and should be completed by the following Wednesday.  Please let me know if you have any issues with completing the homework.
