Little Lambs Learning

Week beginning - 8th June 2026

We have another exciting and engaging week planned for our Little Lambs! This week, our learning will focus on “People Who Help Us Feel Better”, helping the children explore caring roles and understand how others support us when we are unwell.

Our role play area will be transformed into a busy Little Lambs doctors’ surgery, where the children can take on the roles of doctors, nurses and patients. Through this imaginative play, they will practise caring for others, build confidence in speaking and listening and explore real-life experiences in a safe and fun way.

In our maths learning, we will be exploring ABAB patterns using shapes and colours. This will support the children in recognising patterns, predicting what comes next and developing early sorting and organising skills.

We will also be enjoying some messy sensory play with shaving foam, using a variety of tools to make marks and patterns. This fun activity helps to build creativity, fine motor skills and early mark-making development.

During our adult-led activity, we will be talking about things we can do with our families on a sunny day, encouraging the children to share their ideas and experiences. Following this, they will create their own beach scene pictures using sand and stickers, inspiring imagination and creativity.

Outdoors, the children will have opportunities to thread pasta onto pipe cleaners to make colourful bracelets, supporting fine motor skills. They can practise turn-taking while exploring the water pipe runs, helping to build cooperation and problem-solving skills.
