Little Lambs Learning

This week in Little Lambs, we have been talking, learning and exploring all about our senses!

The children have enjoyed a range of exciting, hands-on activities to explore their senses of sight, touch and smell. We got creative with scented playdough and scented cornflour, giving the children opportunities to investigate different textures, explore lovely scents and discover how materials feel in their hands.

Alongside our sensory activities, the children enjoyed matching puzzles, sharing books and developing their imaginations through playing in the small world area with the car garage.

Outdoors, we continued our sensory exploration with sea animals in blue-dyed, scented water. The children used their senses of sight, touch and smell to investigate the water and sea creatures, while also listening to the sounds they could make during their play.

Over in the sand area, we became little explorers, sifting through the sand to discover hidden shells. We talked about the different colours we found and enjoyed investigating these little treasures together.

There has also been an exciting transformation in our indoor role-play area, which has now become the Little Lambs shop! The children have enjoyed filling their baskets with different food items, pretending to go shopping and taking turns to check out their purchases at the till. This has provided wonderful opportunities to develop language, practise social skills and use their imaginations through familiar everyday experiences.

It has been another wonderful week full of sensory discoveries, imaginative play and exciting learning opportunities in Little Lambs.
