This week in Year 4....

In maths, we have started a new topic looking at fractions. I have been impressed with Year 4's focus and reasoning as we looked at converting improper fractions to mixed numbers. 

In writing, we have started a new unit, looking at the story 'The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse' by Charlie Macksey. Continuing with our new whole school approach using the "Write Stuff" programme, the children have enjoyed writing effective sentences for using simile, adverbs and repetition for impact.

Book week has been wonderfully inspiring as teachers toured around classrooms, across the whole school, sharing their love of reading through different activities. Year 4's outfits of their favourite characters were amazing!

This half term,  PE will be on Monday. Please come into school wearing your PE kit on this day.

Homework and reading books will be sent home on a Friday and must be returned on Wednesday.  

Reading records need to be filled in at least three times a week and signed by an adult at home and brought into school on Wednesdays for us to check. 

Please remember to send your child in with a water bottle and a healthy snack.
