Welcome back! We hope you all had a lovely and restful half-term break. It has been wonderful to see the children back in school, and they have settled back into our classroom routines brilliantly. We have had a busy and enjoyable first week back!

In Maths, we have continued with our Addition and Subtraction topic, focusing on adding across a ten. The children have been using practical resources, including Base 10 and number lines, to help them understand how to bridge through the next multiple of ten. We have been encouraging the children to explain their thinking and use different strategies to solve calculations.

In English, we have continued exploring our core text, Beegu. This week, the children took part in an exciting hot-seating activity, where they stepped into Beegu's shoes and answered questions as though they were the character. This helped them to develop a deeper understanding of Beegu's thoughts, feelings and experiences. The children asked some fantastic questions and showed great imagination and empathy in their responses.

In Geography, we have started our new topic by learning about the seven continents of the world. The children enjoyed using atlases to name and locate the continents, developing their map-reading skills and geographical knowledge. We will continue exploring different parts of the world over the coming weeks.

Please could children bring in an empty carrier bag in for our art lesson next Thursday.
PE continues to be on Mondays (indoors) and Wednesdays (outdoors).
Spellings are tested every Wednesday, so please continue to practise these at home.
