Year 6

Welcome to Year 6

One Family, Aiming High, Learning Together with God

Welcome back to a new school year! We are looking forward to working with you and your child this year in Year 6.

Our Year 6 Team:

Miss Douch - Monday - Friday

Miss Baker - Monday - Friday (am)

Mrs Pereira - Wednesday  and Friday (all day)

This half term, PE will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please come into school wearing your PE kit on those days. Children are allowed to wear their leavers hoodie on PE days.

If you need to get in contact for any reason please use this email address:  maddied@spmillend.herts.sch.uk. I will aim to get back to you no later than 48 hours from receiving your email. If it's urgent please speak to the School office who will pass the message on.

Homework and reading books will be sent home on a Friday and must be returned on Wednesday.

Reading records need to be filled in at least three times a week and signed by an adult at home and brought into school on Wednesdays for us to check.

Please remember to send your child in with a water bottle and a healthy snack. If you would like your child to walk home on their own please email the school or bring a letter in to let us know.

Check our class page for regular updates, from our class blogger, about what we have been learning!

We look forward to a great year.

Year 6 Team

In year 6 this week

It has certainly been a hot week, and we would like to say a huge well done to all of the children for coping so well with the warm weather. They have continued to work hard, stay focused and show a fantastic attitude to their learning despite the high temperatures.

Our Peter Pan production rehearsals are now well underway, and the children are doing a brilliant job learning their lines, songs and stage directions. Thank you for all your support at home with practising lines and songs – it is greatly appreciated and really helps to build the children's confidence. We are very much looking forward to performing the production for you all!

A reminder that Bikeability takes place next week. If your child has signed up to take part, please ensure they bring their bike and a correctly fitting helmet each day they are participating.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend, and we look forward to another exciting week ahead!
