Reading records need to be filled in at least three times a week and signed by an adult at home and brought into school on Wednesdays for us to check.
Please remember to send your child in with a water bottle and a healthy snack. If you would like your child to walk home on their own please email the school or bring a letter in to let us know.

Reading x3
Over the first week of year 6, we have been busy with lots of new and fun subjects.
MATHS: In Maths this week we have been focusing on the subject of place value and powers of 10, reading and writing numbers to 1,000,000, 10,000,000 and drawing/ filling out number lines.
ENGLISH: In English we have been looking at a book called windows by Jeannie Baker. Our sentence stacking has been wonderful, as a class we have been focusing on adverbs, verbs, synonyms, onomatopoeia and sentence stems.
GUIDED READING: In Guided Reading this term we are reading a book called Holes by Louis Sachar. We have been specifically focusing on fluency, retrieval and vocabulary.
HISTORY: In History we are learning about WW2. We have been creating timelines from 1918-1940 to highlight the causes of WW2 and its impact on Britain.
SCIENCE: As a class we have been focusing on The Kingdom of Life. All living organisms are divided into five kingdoms - animals, fungi, protists, bacteria and plants.
It’s been a great first week back in year 6.
