    Foundation Stage Learning

    Week beginning -  20th October

This week we are focussing on Diwali. We will be learning about Rama and Sita and how people celebrate Diwali. Our home corner is a Diwali party and we have lots of Diwali activities for the children to explore around the classroom. We will even be doing some food tasting!

    Literacy

We will be exploring the book Perfectly Norman.

    Phonics

F1 will continue working through the foundations for phonics which helps to develop children’s phonological and phonemic awareness through fun, engaging games and nursery rhymes. There are two aspects to Foundations for Phonics: Rhyme time and Tuning into sounds. Rhyme time explores rhyme to build up a bank of shared language, develop children’s understanding of the world and familiarity with the sounds in words. Tuning into sounds teaches phonological and phonemic awareness through games.

F2 - This week is a recap of all the sounds learnt so far this half term.

Please continue to practise phonics sounds and tricky words at home.

    Continuous Provision

This week the children have been able to make firework paintings, diya lamps, have a Diwali party, make henna hand designs, create rangloi patterns amongst our normal offerings of duplo in the construction and matching activities in maths.

    Have a lovely week!
