This week in year One

What a busy week it has been! In maths this week we have been learning to subtract, we have been interpreting our part-part whole models to subtraction number sentences. It has been tricky but we continue to persevere! 

In English we have been working on writing couplets for a poem based on fireworks! 

In geography, we have started to explore maps, we have been making maps of our classroom using items found around our classroom to keep it as practical as possible. 

In science, we continue to explore animals and their habitats, including humans. Our RSE lessons are closely linked as we are now exploring how we can keep ourselves fit and healthy. 

We are looking forward to visiting Liz Fost next week at Sheperds School. More on this next week once we've been.
