St Peter's Church of England (VA) Primary School
One Family, Aiming High, Learning Together with God
Welcome to St Peter's Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School
Dear Prospective or Current Parent, Carer or Pupil,
Welcome to St Peter's school website, we hope that you enjoy browsing through the pages that show all the fantastic things that we do. At St. Peter's, we pride ourselves on having a family ethos. At St. Peter's, we follow the school vision of, "One Family, Aiming High, Learning Together with God". This vision, held by all in our community, shows our relentless desire to ensure all our children and adults flourish within our school community.
As headteacher, I hold the highest regard for individualism and ensuring that all in my care are able to flourish from pupil to parents. We use the parable of 'The Lost Sheep' as a way to articulate our philosophy of collective respect and love.
12 “What do you think a man does who has one hundred sheep and one of them gets lost? He will leave the other ninety-nine grazing on the hillside and go and look for the lost sheep. 13 When he finds it, I tell you, he feels far happier over this one sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not get lost.'
Matthew 18:12-13
Further to our parable, an area of noticeable achievement is our most recent Ofsted, which was in November 2018, when we were judged to be 'Good' in all areas. Ofsted said in their report:
'The school has a positive ethos where pupils enjoy learning and staff morale is high. It provides a stimulating learning environment for its pupils. The broad curriculum inspires pupils to love learning and be curious.'
At St. Peter’s, we pride ourselves on delivering a rich and diverse curriculum that is rooted in our unique Christian ethos. By choosing us, you will quickly find happy children, parents and staff. Upon walking through our doors, you will be greeted by a warm and friendly atmosphere. When walking through my school you will see learning in action, children developing themselves and support being given to all. This was noted in our SIAMS inspection in which we were rated 'Good'. Below is a comment from our inspection report:
"Christian values at the heart of the welcoming and inclusive ethos create a distinctive Christian learning environment. Christian love, care and respect drive every aspect of school life, fully reflecting the school motto"
By working with our governors, parents and staff, we are ensuring that our children receive the best education and that they work towards their own unique goals.
Please do come and see us in action,
Mr. Michael Conley
